At Thacker & Brooks Insurance, we are proud of our legacy as an insurance agency that members of our local community in Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, and Burlington, North Carolina have trusted for decades. Our founders – Larry Moore, Larry Brooks, and Roy Donnell – originally started their careers as Nationwide agents. In 1973, the three decided to go into business together, forming the independent agency Moore, Brooks, and Donnell Insurance Services, Inc.
In 1993, Brooks’ daughter, Cathy, joined the agency and studied under her father until 2000, when she bought him out. In 2017, Cathy bought out the remaining two partners but retained the same name.
In 2012, Will Thacker started his insurance career with Craft Insurance, which was then the local community agency for Greensboro. He then joined Faw Insurance in 2016, committed to growing a local community agency in Greensboro to fill the void of national agencies buying out local businesses.
Will and Cathy eventually joined together and formed Thacker & Brooks Insurance, and we have become a preferred provider for personal and business insurance in the local community and a name people trust when shopping for insurance products. In 2023, our agency joined Legacy Insurance Partners to expand our reach even further and continue to provide the highest-quality service in the local insurance market.
